got past the install issue - but... simply not getting retina resolutions in my Win7 and Win 8.1 Preview machines that I had on 5.03.
If I see resolutions available higher than the standard 15" native non-retina values, they max out at a value less than 2880*1800, and if I choose any of those, the display looks like... well... bad... scrolling in these higher resolutions is TERRIBLE... it is af if the discrete graphics are not being used.
To "force" the issue, I changed the settings in energy prefs to no longer automatically switch between the Intel 4000 and the discrete graphics card, but no change... the only resolution that even is readable is 1680 by 1050 for some strange reason (which is in essence still a scaled value).
I'm aware that everyone is "guessing" a bit regarding Mavericks and Win 8.1 compatibility - but it seems like something broke on the Fusion side of the house - I was running 5.0.3 on DP7 this morning and the displays in my Fusion VMs were fine...
Oh, I've already removed/reinstalled the new VMWare tools - so forth and so on... no change.
