Fusion 6, sound breaks up in VM

I just upgraded from Fusion 5 to 6 and my Windows 7 Pro x64 VM is getting really bad sound quality when accessing remote webinars where people are speaking.

The same VM under version 5 worked fine to the same site the previous morning.

The only thing that changed was upgrading to 6 and installing the tools for Fusion 6 in the VM.
