I'm on a 15" rMBP 10,1 and using Fusion 5.0.3 and have recently done a fresh install of Windows 8.1 x64.
I installed VMWare tools straight away, during which an error message popped up saying that the USB driver may have had a problem installing and may need to be installed later.
I have also installed all Bootcamp drivers manually.
When plugging in a usb flash drive I get the pop-up asking where to connect it to - Mac or Windows. On selecting Windows the toolbar in Fusion shows the device as connected but I cannot view the contents of the drive in Windows explorer. The drive does not appear in Disk Management.
Occasionally (about 1 in 10 times) it will connect normally and I can view its contents.
