I bit the bullet and bought the $50 upgrade from VMWare Fusion 4.x to Fusion 6.0.2 today. Everything seemed to go fine, except installing VMWare tools hung in mid install (something to do with installing thin printer drivers).
When I tried to upgrade my virus protection, I realized that I just had no network connectivity from my virtual machine (Running Windows XP Pro, if you can believe it). Network setting still set at Bridged (auto detect), as I suspect it was when running Fusion 4.x. I did try every other possible permutation. At one point Fusion asked me if I wanted to create a new bridged network connection, which I said yes to and it asked me for my system password, which I supplied.
My whole reason for upgrading was in order to upgrade to OS X Mavericks. But haven't done that yet. Am still on OS X 10.8.5 Mountain Lion. Here's my Macbook Pro's specs (late 2007 model):
Hardware Overview:
Model Name: MacBook Pro
Model Identifier: MacBookPro3,1
Processor Name: Intel Core 2 Duo
Processor Speed: 2.4 GHz
Number of Processors: 1
Total Number of Cores: 2
L2 Cache: 4 MB
Memory: 4 GB
Bus Speed: 800 MHz
Boot ROM Version: MBP31.0070.B07
SMC Version (system): 1.16f11
Serial Number (system): --
Hardware UUID: --
Sudden Motion Sensor:
State: Enabled
Oh, by the way, I shut off my Windows Firewall, in an attempt to find a way to Internet connectivity, but no luck there.
I'm looking forward to anyone who can direct me to a solution here. I haven't used this forum in years, but was very impressed when I did need it in the past on how quickly people respond.
Thanks for your help,
