I have installed Windows 8 successfully in the past (on a Macbook Pro retina), but I keep getting the following error with 8.1: "A media driver your computer needs is missing". I have attached a screenshot of the error: after that pop up, the VM restarts, and it fails again with the same error.
I am running this on a Mac Pro (2010 model, 2 x quad-core Xeon). I have tried the easy install, and a customized one: same problem with both. I have tried with the following images (I have an MSDN subscription, I downloaded the images from the official MSDN website):
- en_windows_8_1_enterprise_x64_dvd_2971902.iso
- en_windows_8_1_pro_n_vl_x64_dvd_2971969.iso
- en_windows_8_1_pro_vl_x64_dvd_2971948.iso
I have the exact same error with the three of them.
Anybody had this issue and managed to get past it?
