Yesterday my Windows 7 guest (64 bit sp1) was working just fine. Today I booted into it and it took about 2-3 minutes to boot the OS up. I was unable to use it because the processors on the guest side was maxed out. I had to kill it off and tried again with the same results. However I noticed that the VMware tools process was taking up over 25% of the cpu. Due to the slowness I wasn't able to get windows to show all the processes so I don't know what was taking up the rest of it. I tried booting in safe mode and the OS was still maxing out the cpu and the boot was taking a long time so I shut the guest down. The only way I was able to get the guest OS to function was by rebooting the mac. Please help me determine what caused this slowness and prevent it from happening again. Like I stated guest was windows 7 64-bit sp1. I am running fusion 5.0.3 on mountain lion (10.8.5). This is not a virtual machine running on bootcamp.
