Mirrored or Shared folders

I have a Mac running OSX 10.9.1 and I installed Fusion 6.02. I have a Win7 64bit VM set up (no Bootcamp).

I would like to have all of my document files on the Mac and accessible from the VM. I have Shared Folders set up in the VM Settings as well as Mirrored Folders for the documents folders and others. The folders all seem to be Read Only and if uncheck the Read Only box it seems like the read only attribute is removed but the folders are still read only.

Am I missing something as to make the folders Read and Write enabled?
