Hi everyone. I do not know much about Macintosh computers or VMWare fusion, so I am seeing if anyone knows the answer to my question. My work gave me a new MacBook Pro which cannot run several PC applications that I use. Therefore, the technical support installed VMWare Fusion (Professional Version 5.0.1) on my mac to run WindowsXP. Right after they installed this software, I noticed that my hard drive space dropped significantly. The computer that I have has a 500 GB hard drive, and I have not installed hardly anything on it. I have opened up the Macintosh HD icon in finder, and it only says that only about 37.5 GB are used up. When I open the storage space under the Apple Icon in OSX it says that I have used up about 420 GB (I have attached a screenshot picture of the two Macintosh tools used to calculate remaining HD space). I am wondering if a setting in VMWare Fusion might be saying that it is using up 380GB of space that is unaccounted for. Since most of my tech support has dealt with PCs, no one seems to know what is going on. Any ideas?
I am running a 13" MacBook Pro with OSX Version 10.7.5
