Now that the Windows 8.1 Update has been released, and is supposedly "desktop and mouse friendly", can we please have an option in the VM settings on whether or not we want a virtual touch device in our Windows 8 VM? This feature would be needed in Fusion 5 and 6, which both support Windows 8. I know I can edit the VMX file, or disable the Windows service, or disable the Windows device driver, but I really shouldn't have to. The Windows device paradigm is to have features for existing hardware. Just like I can tell the VM I have one disk, not two, I also want to tell the VM I don't have a touch device, and for Windows to behave as it should. It's at the Fusion level that hardware is controlled, so it's at the Fusion level that touch devices should be controlled. Having touch enabled does things like this: http://www.jasonslater.com/2014/01/09/tip-dismiss-switching-between-applications-popup-after-upgrading-to-windows-8-1/ We really shouldn't have to do more than normal settings management to get this done. Please put "touch management" in the VM settings.
