VMWare Fusion, Windows 8.1 & Cisco Secure Desktop

Am I high thinking this should all work?

I have Windows 8.1 working OK...

But,

1. I cannot map a local drive (e.g., \\nas01\whydrive) I get a network login to network "WIN-IAPPSQ9G960\username" ~ this seems like a local network name

2. When I try to load the Cisco Secure Desktop,

Platform Detection - check

ActiveX - nothing

Java Detection - Access Denied

Are these related? Any place to point me on how to fix these?
