Headless VMware Fusion Readlink /var/run/vmware Permission Issues

I've been having problems getting headless VM's working without root permissions using the `vmrun start $PATHTOVMDOTVMXFILE nogui` command. Specifically, the root-level helper is making the link in /var/run/vmware with root:daemon ownership and 0700 permissions when it is started with the 'nogui' option. Starting it without that option results in root:daemon with 0755 permissions.

I've added some logs to a gist here: https://gist.github.com/jhenkens/ee17331c223f77870060

Note the top box in the gist: "Most important line". This states in the vmware.log that there is a permission issue reading the link. You can then see in the next two boxes, 'gui' and 'nogui', the difference between starting the VM with the two settings.

This is preventing me from being able to seamlessly use vagrant with VMWare, as I have to watch it fail on the first up, and then manually kill it, and change the permissions on that link. I experienced this exact same issue on two separate machines running 10.9.2 and Fusion 6.0.2. Is there any known solution to prevent this from happening? It could it be patched not to have this inconsistent behavior between the two run modes?

Thanks,

Johan
