Word 2002 freezes in VMWare Fusion

Hi,

I recently made a complete new virtual machine with Windows 8. Because it's for my work necessary, I have to use Word 2002. Unfortunately, it sometimes (especially when I work with numberings) it completely freezes. There is no compatibility issue with Windows 8, because I also tried with VirtualBox and there is absolutely no problem.

I know, that Word 2002 is very old and it would be better to purchase a newer Office, but for work I really have to use Word 2002.

Any ideas, where here could be the problem and how I could fix that?
