Unable to install Ubuntu 14.04 on VMware Fusion on OS X Mavericks with 7.15 GB of Free Space

Have a MacBook Pro, running OS X Mavericks, with 7.15 GB of free disk space.

Downloaded VMware Fusion 6.03 and ubuntu-14.04-desktop-amd64.iso...

Tried installing Ubuntu using the following steps:

(1) Launched VMware Fusion and a Dialog stating "Select the Installation Method".

(2) Chose "Install from disc or image" and clicked on Continue.

(3) Selected my .iso image (see above) and check marked "Use Easy Install" and clicked on Continue and then Finish.

(4) It started installing my Ubuntu on my VM and less then 50% on the installation progress bar, it stops by displaying

a dialog / modal stating:

"VMware Fusion has paused this virtual machine because the disk on which the virtual machine is stored is almost full.

to continue, free an additional 3.57 MB of disk space."

Don't understand why its so difficult to install Ubuntu inside VMware Fusion on my OS X Mavericks machine...

Isn't 7.15 GB enough? The ubuntu-14.04-desktop-amd64.iso has a file size of 1.01 GB, by the way.

Just checked my hard drive's space (after this attempted install) and it has 7.01 GB remaining.

Any advice would be beneficial...
