I upgraded from version 4.4 to 6.0.4 running XP SP3 and the clipboard no longer works
between Mavericks and Windoze.
I have tried the article:
I don't have auto login
have waited 60 seconds before login
Have run the command line "C:\Program Files\VMware\VMware Tools\vmtoolsd.exe" –n vmusr
Have checked the Registry key
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
and have
VMware User Process REG_SZ "C:\Program Files\VMware\VMware Tools\vmtoolsd.exe" -n vmusr
In Task Manager there are two vmtoolsd.exe one running under SYSTEM and the other under my username
If I kill off one or the other, copy & paste still doesn't work.
There is no longer a VM Tools icon in the System Tray, which is by design ?
I have re-installed VM Tools, and restarted several times, and wasted a lot of work time doing it.
I copy and paste at leaf 50 times a day, so I have just wasted the money on the upgrade which does run a lot faster,
so I don't want to have to roll back to version 4
I just upgraded a Windows 7 VM to 6 and copy & paste is working, and the vmtoolsd.exe runs under my username
I would appreciate a fix that actually works for Windows XP
