My VMWARE says I have complimentary support, I fill out the form and get "request not available". Sigh.

At first, if left idle over a weekend, my Windows apps would stall, slowing to glacial levels. I would wait for MS Excel (primarily) or Word to quit, then try restarting Windows 7, or shutting down. Things would be OK until the next weekend. Now, if left alone for a few hours it does the same thing. Tonight it took well over 10 minutes to merely shut down Excel and at least the same to ask Windows to shut down.
This situation is completely unworkable. I've tried restarting the computer, an iMac that is 4 years old with 12 GB of RAM, running Mavericks/10.9.3. The problem still occurs. Not a Mac-newbie. I spent 27 years as an independent Mac consultant. My system has weekly permissions repair automated, I've recently run Disk Warrior on my boot volume, which has 218 GB free.
This issue happens whether or not my 5 drive Firewire chassis is on or not. Generally, on the Mac side, Photoshop/Lightroom CC, Mail, Firefox, LaunchBar is running. Xrite's ColorMunki calibration monitoring software is active. My MacBook Pro has none of these issues, but is running an older version of Fusion 6. It is also running Mavericks. Both units are running Avast antivirus.
Also reported in a thread here that the Mac shortcuts work on the laptop for cut-copy-paste-select all, and in the last two updates on the desktop, I've been forced to use Windows control-equivalents. Hate that.
I'm pretty sideways about this. None of using Windows is for sport. My boss in our 99% Windows company would much prefer my use of a Wintel machine. I've managed with Fusion for nearly four years.
