Hello,
I regularly have the issue that vmtoolsd.exe is using 100% of a core for a long time. Currently this is going on since 45 minutes already. This is a on a windows 7 64bit. I use Fusion 6.0.4. Rebooting helps but it will then happen again.
In case it's related, I have second issue that I am trying to solve as well: the VM is totally unresponsive (I have to wait 30s for a click to have any effect on the GUI). The external disk on which it is running shows constant read speed of about 2MB/s. It's a USB3 external disk, which can read/write at speeds up to 70MB/s (tested). I even thick provisioned the disk to improve performance, but that didn't help. This second issue is also sporadic but always last for at least 30 minutes when it happens. Currently I suspect Time Machine a bit, but it's just a hinch.
Has anyone a series of troubleshooting steps for the first issue (CPU usage of vmtoolsd)?
Cheers,
KaZ
