Horizontal scrolling not working in MS Excel 2010 on Windows 7 Professional Guest OS

Horizontal scrolling from the built-in trackpad does not work in MS Excel running the Windows 7 Pro VM.   

This feature does not work making it more difficult to use Excel. 

I'm a Parallels 9 user doing an eval on Fusion due to similar (but different) software quality issues in Parallels that create other ergonomic issues.  I'm looking for a solution that will enable me to use Windows-native Excel on my Mac without bending over backward or fundamentally changing the way I work to accommodate software quality defects.  My hope is that my issue with Fusion is just a settings thing.

Can anyone shed any light on this issue for me?
