Hi VMWare community. I've been using VMWare for game development for the past while. VMWare supports OpenGL, but not all versions of it. VMWare Fusion 6 (my current version) supports OGL 2.1 (I think; it's hard to tell from their documentation). In my current project we've upgraded to OpenGL V3.2 so we can implement programmable pixel shaders and a number of other niceties required of modern games. This means I've had to work in native Windows, which I rather dislike. It means I have to have a separate computer to maintain, and that applies to a number of my colleagues.
So my question to the community and the VMWare team is: what version of OpenGL does Fusion 7 support? Do you have any plans to, in the future, support more modern versions? I know that gamers are not your target demographic, but developers of said games could be. I'm ramping up a new team now and would like to give my developers (and myself) the option of sticking with familiar software, hardware and host environments. I also really appreciate the advantages of development in virtual environments, and would like to continue to do so.
