VMWare 6.0.5 Networking

Hi all..

After upgrading to Fusion 6.0.5, it seems VMWare changed network relationships..

I always thought 'Host-Only' was on a different sub-net, as it had it's own range 172.x.x  thus no internet access, only Private..

however it now looks like both Bridged, and host only are on the same sub-net 255.255.255.0 with the range of 192.x.x.x, which makes me wondering, how can i be sure that this is realy host only ?

Looks like all VMWare did was 'quick fix' that accomplished the same thing, by eliminating the gateway (0.0.0.0) in Host only, but still being on the same sub-net in this case.

Why the change since visually users could see via a different sub-net and or ip range, that it is indeed host mode, but i guess technically now, you can call any mode Host only, since I can do the same thing on NAT....  blank out the gateway would have the same effect.

Thus. apart from visually telling the user otherwise, there could really only be 2 virtual adapters, and tell the user if they want Host only, blank out the gateway.
