System Default audio is stuck

My configuration: Fusion 7.0.1 Professional, OS X 10.10, MacBook Pro 2011, Windows 7 Pro x64

Ever since the 7.0 upgrade to Fusion (on OS X 10.9 and 10.10), I've had a problem with the audio output going to the wrong device.  From what I've been able to troubleshoot, Fusion detects the audio output device setting when the application starts.  If I change the output device, Fusion continues to send the audio to the original device.

My most common situation is that I start up Fusion while the laptop is disconnected and mobile so the audio output device is the internal speakers.  I move the laptop to my desk and connect it to my displays and (USB) desk speakers then change the sound output to the desk speakers.  The Mac audio goes thru the desk speakers while the Fusion audio continues to go thru the laptop's internal speakers.

Here is a pic showing the Mac's sound settings and the VM's settings.

As you can see, the Mac output is currently set to the Display Audio device and the Fusion VM is set to System Default (which should go to the selected Display Audio device).  If I play any audio in the VM, it comes out of the USB Audio device as that was the device selected when I last started up Fusion.

I can change the Mac sound output to any device but it doesn't change the Fusion audio output.

The only way to resolve it is to shutdown the VMs and quit Fusion.  This is not a per-VM problem so a quit/restart of the Fusion app is required.  After relaunching Fusion, the VM audio is sent to the desired device, at least until the next change.

It is possible to change the VM sound card settings from the System Default to a specific device but that is not a good option.  If System Default is selected, it should go to whatever device is configured on the host.

Could someone confirm that they are experiencing the same thing?

Thanks
