I am running VMWare Fusion 5.0.2 with Win7 Ultimate 64-bit on a i7 iMac with Mountain Lion on my home network.
Within the last few weeks, having made no changes to Fusion, a few apps have started giving errors. Specifically, a new install of a program called "Map My Family Tree" went OK, but when I told it to check for updates (the CD often is a few bug fixes bhind), I got the error: "You need to be connected to the Internet to complete the upgrade process. Please connect to the Internet and click OK."
However, I am connected. My browser, email, Adobe updates,Windows Updates, etc., have no problem connecting, regardless of whether I have Fusion set to NAT or Bridge. I have tried disabling my firewall and antivirus. Nothing.
I then tried reinstalling it on my Macbook Pro that runs Fusion 5.0.2 and WinXP Pro 32-bit. Same problem.
Any ideas on what is blocking the app from the Internet, either Fusion-wise or Windows-wise?
Thanks in advance.
