Installing Windows XP - tries network boot, can't find CD

Greetings

I am attempting to install Windows XP Professional on Fusion 2.0.8 (328035).

In the Virtual Machine Library, I click New.

Setup detects the Windows XP Pro CD

I click Install this operating System

Easy Install is checked, I enter the product key and click "continue."

The Sharing screen is next and the Share home folder is selected, I click "continue."

The Finish screen is next and I click "finish."

I am then presented with the "Save As" window and keep the default name and click "Save"

The VMWARE bios screen is presented and the system attempts to perform a "Network boot from AMD Am79C970A." This boot fails.

I then power off the VM and  edit the .vmx file and insert bios.bootDelay = "8000" so that I can enter bios setup. I reboot and enter the BIOS

setup utility and arrow over to Boot, so that I can modify the boot settings. The order of the boot is:

Legacy Floppy

Bootable Add-in Cards

VMWare Virtual Scsi hard Drive

---

CD-Rom Drive & Network Boot are in the list, but cannot be selected. CD-Rom is listed before Network boot. In the Virutal Machine setting, I have selected Connected for the CD/DVD and have also used Auto detect with the same results.

Here are the contents of the .vmx file
