I have an old DOS program that prints to LPT1. I need to be able to run this program and then capture the LPT1 output to a text file in OS X. I have everything functioning, except I cannot figure out how to put a copy of the data file for the program onto the MS DOS drive. I have tried using a floppy image, but it is not large enough. I have tried using a CD ROM image, but MS DOS does not recognize CD ROMs. I am unable to make the network function.
I have tried using Windows 3.1, but it neither accepts CD ROM images, nor am I able to figure out how to copy files to the C: drive.
I have tried using DosBox, but it does not support printing. I have tried using Boxer, but it does not support printing. I am unable to run MS Dox from the command prompt in a Windows 7 virtual machine because it is 64 bit. I am unable to run MS DOS from the command prompt in Windows XP because the Dos program always tells me that the parallel printer port is busy.
I Have managed to get the program running in an MS DOS virtual machine and I am able to capture LPT1 output to a text file. The only thing left to accomplish is to copy the latest data file into the program which is on the C: drive. I do not know how to copy files from OS X to an MS DOS virtual machine.
Please help
