I am trying to use an OS X guest for the first time and have a number of roadblocks:
1. dual monitor is black when set to "use all displays in full screen"

2. I cannot create symlinks in shared folders, even after editing .vmx file as described here:
That kb article said to add this line:
sharedFolder0.followSymlinks = "TRUE"
It wasn't clear if I had to add that line for each shared folder where I wanted to create symlinks. But I did anyway for folders 0-3. I'm using Path Finder to make symbolic links, but the symbolic link option is greyed out.
3. it seems rather random, when going into full screen, whether the host dock and menu bar are visible (and thus in the way). is there any usage trick here when switching between Guest OS in VMW Fusion and using the host OS?
4. related to above, when in full screen and the host OS menu bar is NOT visible, and I want to bring it up, what's the best way? Seems also random. sometimes just putting the cursor all the way at the top of the screen works, sometimes not.
5. Is there any difference between SATA and SCSI hard disks? I migrated a physical machine to a SATA disk and now it's the boot volume. I want to just remove the original install boot disk which is on a SCSI volume. I don't recall ever being given the choice to pick one.
