Running Snow Leopard in VMware on Mountain Lion Host

Hi,

I have downloaded an evaluation version of Fusion 5.0.2 to my iMac (late 2009) running Mountain Lion. I had no problems installing Fusion and ofc using my try-out license key.

Next I have tried 2 things:

a) Using the original Snow Leopard install disc (10.6.2)

b) Making a .dmg out of the smae original disc (10.6.2)

In the a) scenario Fusion chooses server for me and then under installing of OS (rightfully) comes to the conclusion the disc is not a server. Installation halts.

In the b) scenario I can choose "Mac OS X" or "Mac OS X 64". Either way; Installation starts and then after a while hangs with the onscreen apple replaced by a cirkle with a cross-over line on it. That ursually means the particular program (with such an icon) cant be run for some reason.

I have used this very disc (2 days ago) to install the operating system in this (same) machine (before upgrading to Mountain Lion 10.8)

Best Regards,

Erik
