All of a sudden i ran out of disk space on my VM and then my laptop - here is my history
1. Converted Physical to VM and moved over to MBA - Physical has a 500GB HD, but only 100GB is used.
2. Converted VM was about 80gb in size
3. Vmware reclaimed space and VM was then about 60gb
4. All has been fine for about 4 days
5 At one point the VM was 5gb bigger and showed i could reclaim space, but I didn't.
6. Today - VM shutdown - out of space error
7 VM is now 196GB in size - filling up physical SSD on laptop
In the process now of copying it to external disk.
Can anyone tell me why this would triple in size without me doing anything - and especially why it is double the size of the original?
How can I get it smaller, and how can i prevent this issue again?
VM is Win7
OSX Mavericks
I have never seen anything like this...
