Hi,
Am at the point of replacing Vmware Fusion 6.02 with Parallels 9. I want to run in Unity mode, but cannot.
I have migrated my Windows 7 Sp1 Enterprise laptop into a Virtual machine using the vCenter Converter Standalone, while doing so I had the vCenter Converter install Vmware Tools on my new guest.
Moved guest to MacBook Pro 15 with a Retina screen (Late 2013 model).
Booted the Guest, started up fine. However
1. Unity mode is greyed out. I can run either in a single window or full screen. But Unity doesnt work.
2. Copy and paste either by CMD-C or CTRL-C do not work
3. The mouse does not transparently pass between guest and host. Need to use CTRL-CMD to release mouse each time
I have tried removing and reinstalling VMWARE Tools, with and without "run as administrator", also with rebooting.
I have tried repairing VMWARE Tools, also as administrator/ Rebooting.
vmtoolsd appears to be running as a service, visible in the Task manager, with no obvious crashes
Am I flogging a dead donkey? Should I give up and go buy Parallels for Coherence mode?
As an aside, I have Debian linux installed as a Guest also, and Unity Mode works just fine. Its just Windows 7 that will not work.
