Unable to open/launch Windows Movie Maker on Win7 64bit on a Mac

Recently installed the trial version of Fusion 6.0.2 on a Macbook Pro with Mavericks

The virtual PC is Win7 64bit Home Premium

Host Mac specs

Processor: 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo

Memory: 6 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM

Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT 256 MB

OS X 10.9.2

The installation of the trial 30 day download of Fusion went smooth.

I was able to install and successfully install all desired applications with the exception of Windows Movie Maker

Error message:  Sorry, Movie maker can't start.  Make sure that your computer meets the minimum system requirements before trying to start Movie Maker again, then try to update the driver for your video card is Movie maker still doesn't start.

My virtual Win7 64bt has been configured with 3GB of memory

The Video display within windows Device Manager is showing "Standard VGA" - This may be the problem

1 core of the processor that the Mac has 2 core duo. Saving 1 core processor for the Mac which I had no choice regardless.

DirectX11

Within Virtual Machine settings, I enabled "3D Graphics". I am not sure this works to its potential without VMware Tools Installed - Unable to install-"Greyed out"

I have tried all the steps from the forum in the link below focusing on the video card driver or lack there of as being the problem.

Two troubleshooting attempts that failed

1. Installing Vmware Tools  "greyed out" unable to select it to install the tools.

2. Attempted to apply the following fix found within the fusion community

The problem you're seeing is a known bug in Windows Movie Maker 2012 running on Windows 7 (which uses Direct X 11) that's triggered by use on a machine whose graphics card is only DirectX 9 compatible (such as the emulated card in VMWare Fusion).  Microsoft support article 274135 details the problem and gives links to the available updates to Movie Maker 2012 that fix this.  (The exact update depends on which OS you are running.)

"The updated failed to install stating that "the update is not compatible with the computer"

Neither the win7 64bt or 32bit updates work

Please help!
