I had been using Fusion 5 and had a Windows/XP SP3 guest working just fine. I made a copy of this virtual guest, and per a suggestion on the VMWARE KB, I told Fusion that I "moved" the guest when I started up the new one - it asked if I moved or copied it. It came up just fine and, like the guest it was copied from, Internet connection (NAT) worked fine. So, I went to Microsoft's web site and plunked down my $120 for a license for Windows 8. Downloaded it and installed it on top of this cloned Win/XP guest. When it started up, it told me there was no Internet connection. I activated the Win 8 license via telephone. Re-started the Win 8 guest and still no Internet connection. I changed the OS type to Windows 8 and tried it again. Same result - no Internet connection. Changed it to Windows 8 64 bit. Same problem. My iMac is running OS X 10.7.5.
What the heck do I need to do to get this ^&%$$ Windows OS to get an Internet connection?
Thanks, Jim
