unable to drag and drop

I have been able to drag a file (90% of these files are pictures) from my mac desktop to my windows desktop without any problem. Now all of a sudden I am not able to do this anymore. Anyone have a suggestion to what I might have done to cause this? I am running VMware fusion 6.0 and Windows XP if this helps on a MacBook Pro
