Hi !

I am a new IT Technician in a company who use VMware Fusion for many years.

I have a Setup with VMware 6.04 and Mac OS X 10.9.4 Server

After some Validation I find the VM structure is very strange

On the Documents Folder Inside Virtual Machines Folder

I Got 3 VM Files

1) The Master Image (6 TB)

2) One VM with the same name OS X System Volume name of the Partition of the Master VM      (500 GB)

3) One VM with the same name of the partition  Data on the Master                                               (500 GB)

The Master have 6TB size (yes and its too big for me)

The 2 Others have 1 TB in Total

That's really big

I tried to compress it but I learn the compression apply only to Window not Mac OS X VM

After I dig a bit on the subject

I find something could be done with a command line with the cli VMware Tools

disk: perform disk shrink operations

Usage: /Library/Application Support/VMware Tools/vmware-tools-cli disk <subcommand> [args]

Subcommands:

   list: list available locations

shrink <location>: wipes and shrinks a file system at the given location

   shrinkonly: shrinks all disks

wipe <location>: wipes a file system at the given locat

I Try and I got a message that My Main VM Master are linked to external VM and the command could not be perform

Any idea how to reduce the size one my VM Image (6 TB + 1 TB)

Thanks for any suggestion
