Hello, and thanks for anyone who might help me here.
I've a got a 5-6 year old MacBook Pro, but with upgraded hardware so still works well. I recently updated to Mavericks (now OS X 10.9.4) from Snow Leopard, and have since discovered that my version of VMWare Fusion (was running 2.0.8) is not compatible with Mavericks. While the VM icon is still present on the dock, it has a big cross through it and the program will not launch - gives an error notice that this version is not supported. Unfortunately, I cannot easily roll back to Snow Leopard, so I am stuck in Mavericks it would appear, but with non-functioning VMWare. As I have many important programs and files on my virtual machines, I really need get access as soon as possible.
My questions:
1. Is my only course of action to purchase the new VMWare Fusion (version 6.x.x)?
2. My virtual machines (and related VM files) appear intact on my Mac in a documents folder.... Will they work (as previous) with the new version of VMWare Fusion if I do purchase it?
Please include anything else you think relevant, it is much appreciated.
Thanks for your answers and kind assistance.
