I could find no answer to this anywhere. I keep getting the nag to upgrade from Fusion 6 to 7 so I went as far as downloading the trial for 7 and then installing 6 and then 7 in an OS X 10.8 VM to see what happens. The first time 7 overwrote 6 so I reverted and tried again, this time renaming 6 to avoid overwriting. This worked and I could start both versions separately. But I'm concerned that 7 is going to overwrite settings of 6 and replace tools, etc. and cause conflicts. Is this the case? I want to try it out before committing to a new version number as this usually causes existing VMs to break or not perform as before.
