OVF Fusion 6/7 Quit Working to ESXi 5.x / Empty .vmdk file

Anyone,

I do a ton of VMware installs and having the ability to migrate machines from my MAC to an ESXi environment is pretty crucial as I have spent countless hours on my images for people and their machines.  As of late, I unable to OVF a machine (Windows based) on my mac to any ESXi server.

The OVF process with Fusion 6 (CLI) or Fusion 7 (GUI) seems to work.  It builds the OVF package with no issues.  The drive is there, the .vmdk is there and has the correct size.  Unfortunately, when I go to the thick VIC client and then import, the fun virtual world as we have come to love, ends!

The OVF import works and run successfully, no errors.  Oddly, it lasts for about 2 seconds and says the import is successful.  I know that importing a 2012R2 OVF is not 2 seconds, it should take a bit of time.  Sure enough, when I try to boot the machine that was OVF'd on the ESXi server, it wont boot - it has no OS.

I check the .vmdk on the datastore, it's big, but the .vmdk seems to be empty or blank.  Nothing is working... It's like it created the .vmdk framework, but there are no contents inside the file.

Any ideas???
